What is Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE®?
Mercedes-Benz PRESAFE® senses instability associated with an impending collision and takes action to help protect the cabin and its occupants. This system is standard on many new Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as the C-Class and GLC, and adds an extra layer of safety and security to your San Diego drives. How Does PRESAFE® Work?
What happens when the PRESAFE® Mercedes-Benz system senses that a collision or rollover is imminent? It’ll take the following steps to help keep you and your passengers protected:
- The front head restraints adjust to the best position for preventing passenger injuries.
- If a rollover is likely, the windows and sunroof close to help keep debris from flying into the cabin.
- The front seatbelts tighten for greater protection from injury.
Additionally, some models like the E-Class and S-Class come with PRESAFE® Sound — an extension of PRESAFE®. When a collision or rollover is detected, PRESAFE® Sound emits a “pink noise” via the audio system to stimulate a natural reflex in the human ear to help protect your hearing during an accident.
